Peace Corps Blog
What is the Peace Corps?
The Peace Corps is a U.S. Government agency that sends volunteers to third world countries around the globe. Volunteers commit with the goal of serving the communities we are placed in, and promoting world peace and friendship, which is the Peace Corps mission. We live at the level of the locals, and are there to meet the expressed needs of the people. Our end goal is not to have an end at all, but to create sustainable projects that will be carried on by the community once our service ends. This means utilizing what the community already has, instead of bringing any materials in. Additionally, we are there to learn what we can about our community's culture and share it with others. Cultural exchange is a Peace Corps goal, which is partly why I started this blog.

About this Blog

I believe knowledge is meant to be shared. I hope my readers can learn along with me as I embark on my Peace Corps journey. This is my first time blogging, and I'm excited to learn about how this all works too! My goal is for my posts to be authentic, and to show what life is truly like in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. Two years is both a long and short time. My hope is to learn as much as possible, while giving back as much as I can. Please feel free to message me if you have additional questions or comments about a post, I would love to hear from you!
